November 24, 2014 - "Happy Thanksgiving"
Every day life, as in one day at a time, often seems to be so common and so ordinary. One day alone can bring bad news, good news or no news at all. One single day has impact on the days that lie ahead. One single day has brought us into being. One single day will take us away. God alone knows the number of our days. When I look back over the days of my life, I am amazed at what God has done – one day at a time. There have been some spectacular days and some not so spectacular. But, the sum of all of them is remarkable. I am grateful. I am thankful. I am thankful for all that God has taken away from me and I am thankful for all that He has given me.
He has been with me every step of my life no matter where those steps took me. I can remember moments when it appeared that life would be taken from me. He was there. There were things I wanted to have more than what was reasonably good for me. He was there. There were things that were good for me and I shunned them. He was there. There have been times when I did not trust Him. There were times when I knew that all I could do was to trust Him. There were times when I wanted to hide from Him followed by times I wanted only to be found by Him. He knew where I was all the time. So many times I did not understand Him not knowing that He knew and understood everything about me. I am grateful. I am thankful.
I am thankful for all of my days and however many more days there are still to come. I have learned something in each of my days. Some of those days honored Him and some did not. Yet – He continued to honor me with life. I am humbly grateful to Him for the gift of my life. My heart is full of thanksgiving for Him. Romans 11:36…. “For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.”
Blessings to each of you and yours. Tina
